DoDLRMP and CEMML (2010:#036 Cham Qal'a)

There seem to be a confusion in the above data:
(a) DoDLRMP and CEMML (2010:#036 Cham Qal'a) coordinates (Lat 36.150000 Long 68.900000) place the site in an unamed location some 20 km east of Baghlan town & 50 km NE from Shahr-i Nau village (and thus contradict the implied proximity to either of the reference points).
(b) Shahr-i Nau village (some 30 km S of Baglan city, Lat 35.9383 Long 68.7075 - http://www.fallingrain.com/world/AF/03/Shahre_Now.html) has no location nearby, which would be named Cham Qal'a/sham Qal'a.
(c) A few kms E of Baghlan town there is a village called Cham Qal‘eh, or Cham Qala, or but is located some 30 km NE of Shahr-i Nau village.
In the above situation the DoDLRMP and CEMML (2010:#036 Cham Qal’a) will be ignored, and instead (and provisionally) the coordinates of the option (c), namely of the Cham Qal'eh village will be used for mapping purposes. - tmciolek, 26 Aug 2010.

Cham Qala, Baghlan (Bactria)
A Japanese team from the university of Tokyo excavated a site near Baghlan in the 1960s. In the ruins of a qala, they found what might have been the gates of a small town and the remains of a monastery and a stupa. The reliefs and capitals came to the Kabul Museum.
