Ningrahar Province. In the Kunar Valley near Kalatak, approximately 24 kilometers northeast of Kalalabad [= should read Jalalabad - tmc, 24 Aug 2010] and 5 kilometers southwest of Islampur.
Date: Kushan, 1st-3rd century AD (stylistic evidence)
An extensive series of remains, dominated by a small but very perfect stupa in the same style as Nandarra. Both the square platform and the dome of the stupa are still intact. Beside it is a monastery, the walls, which are still standing, and the remains of aqueducts. A number of artificial caves are cut into the hill behind, and the nearby village is build of ancient masonry from the site.
