Manchikallu is located on the bank of a tributary of the Krishna, two miles from the village of Rentachintala, Andhra Pradesh, India. There are remains of a monastery close to the water and two more on a nearby hill. These monasteries are nearby Amaravati and could reasonably be part of the complex.
