Nilandhoo has its own specialty other than rest of the islands of MALDIVES, include the historical Place in Nilandhoo. It is well known as "foah'mathi". It is told that there is a Temple of Buddhist under that, where idols are also there. Nilandhoo "Aasaari Miskiy" is the second mosque build in the Maldives. […] There are important Buddhist remains in this island, including a stupa, indicating that it was inhabited in the past. Some excavations were conducted during Thor Heyerdahl's visit by a team of Norwegian archaeologists.[…]
