This site is a fording point across the Narmada River in Jabalpur District. There are the remains two Buddhist viharas at the site. Both were found in level IV and dated to the Satavahana period (100 BCE - 150 CE).

"Tripuri is an ancient town situated 13 km to the west of Jabalpur on the Bheraghat road. Old name of this town was Tewar. Archeological remains spread extensively over a vast area in the town."
