Raw data
Vardhamana Kota is located 25 miles southwest of Suryapet a little distance off the road to Jangaon also close to the Musi (or Musika) [and Bikkeru - tmciolek] River[s]. The site is large, over ten acres, and contains remains of chaitya halls, mandapas and viharas. Stylistically the site is similar to Amaravati. In spite of coin finds it has not been carefully dated. From the absence of the Buddha in reliefs it seems to be a Theravada site.
